What type of teen bedroom furniture should I buy?

This is no small challenge!

You never know what mood they are going to be in (they change so swiftly LOL). Sometimes their design ideas differ just a "little" from their parents design styles and ideas.

Remember they are quickly becoming who they are going to be as adults. The bedroom should reflect their personality (within limits). No hot tub in the middle of the room. Unless it is in my room!

Girl's bedrooms change as they get older. A lot of the time the frills and lace are no longer "stylish". Teens often want a bedroom that show the latest style or makes them seem mature. This is a room that most of them live in. It just happens to have a bed in it.

Teen Girl bedroom Ideas and Tips!

Create the teenage bedroom with change in mind. They will change their mind. For example, solid girl's bedding choices, (purple, yellow, white, ect) allow you to change themes by just adding theme pillows. You can create a totally now look by removing or adding different pillows.

Speaking of pillows you can really go crazy here! A girl's teen bedroom theme has to have some cool pillows. There are some great pillows out there. Use your creativity. Furry ones, bright colors, ruffles, crazy fun shapes, ones with feathers…. I could go on and on. Pillows can really make a bed pop.

Teens have a lot of homework, so create a study space within the bedroom. A simple computer desk, with a great theme Lamp, and presto you just pulled that plane desk into the rooms theme.

Girl's love to talk on their cell phones (as if you did not know that). Create a cell phone lounge. A coordinating rug in a corner helps create the illusion of a separate area. Add large bean bag chair with a small table (with a plug near by, for charging), and another theme lamp. You have just made a "chat room". A place for them to lounge around and talk on the phone.

Teenage Girls tend to want to display pictures. Add a cork message board. It gives them a place to display pictures, and can be easily changed.

Utilize a book shelf. The taller the better! This works great if you have a small room. Create a display (bedroom theme decor) on the top of the bookshelf. Use the top shelves for items rarely use, or theme decorations. Use the lower shelves for items used often. (CD, DVD, dictionaries, ect.) Add a few theme based items throughout the shelves and it will match the bedroom great! (a 6’ bookshelf can hold a lot of “stuff”)

For a girl’s teen bedroom theme, a long mirror is must. If space allows a tall floor mirror is great. However, a long mirror attached the back of the bedroom door works great too. Both of these allow them to get the full view, from head to toe. (We know how important shoes are)
