Kids Bedroom Design Ideas
Great kids bedroom designs all have a few things that help to pull a room together.
I will go over each one and give you some of my best ideas.
Some ideas are a little more involved, and for those bedroom design ideas I have created a page, for just that one idea. So just follow the links at the bottom of this page.
Here goes.....Lets start with the very a basic step in creating a great room.

Where oh where should my little bed go???
**Kids bedroom “Bed Placement".
Where to put the bed is often over looked when people start to decorate a kids bedroom. However, the bed is often the focal point of the whole room, so really look are where you place the bed.
In some bedrooms, there are only one way the bed can go. O.K. work with it. Design around it.
In small rooms, sometime it is best to put the bed up against the wall. This allows for more open floor space.
If there are several choices, you are lucky! Not everyone is so fortunate.
I like to center the bed on a wall and make that wall an “accent” wall. (More on accent walls in the paint tips page)That is where you paint the wall behind the bed a bold color that is different from the other walls.
You could also put a real bold decoration over the bed. Something that brings your attention to that wall. A large poster, art, picture, wall decal, stencile, ect..
Cornering a bed is a unique bedroom design. I adds depth to your room. It just naturally draws your eyes to that corner of the room. (You do loose a lot of space, so I would only use in a larger bedroom.)
Just make sure that where ever you place the bed you get the most floor space. This will create a feeling of openness. Also be sure and pick a great kids room bedding. This is a key element to pull off a great kids bedroom design. The room is often decorated around the bed!!
Here a few of the simpler ideas that can help to create the theme that you are going for.
**Every kids Bedroom needs the following (In my humble oppinion.) :)
1. A great lamp. You can find a lamp that will match almost any decor or theme. Use one by the bed and one on the desk if there is a desk in the room.
2. Pillows. There is a huge array of pillow avalable. Even for boys rooms. (For example baseball, basketball shaped pillows.)
3. A kid room area rug or bedside rug. It alows you to carry the bedroom theme onto the floor.
4. Piggy bank. Yes a piggy bank! Kids need to learn the importance of saving. So why not just bring it into the rooms decor.
5. Don't forget to get a great trash can!.A perfect place to carry your bedroom theme.
Here are a few resorces to help you create a really great cool kids bedroom!
