Kids Bedroom Storage Ideas

Need some kids bedroom storage ideas? Where do those little rats get all of that stuff? (It is no wonder I am broke)

I think every room need a little storage help. We live in a society that like “stuff”.

I have came up with a few tips that will help put some of that stuff in its proper place.

Kids bedroom storage

Here are Some Great Storage Tips

  • Under the bed! Bed rises are a great way to create some extra space. I use the long wide plastic storage boxes. They slide right under the bed and 3 or 4 can fight nicely under there. (If you use this idea a bed skirt will hide the boxes)
  • Corner “Pet Net”. This a great bedroom storage idea. The best way to gather all those stuffed animals and keep them in one place. I pile them in the back and purposely display a few of the nicer ones in the front. If you have any that match your theme or colors put them in the front.
  • Add a wall cabinet over the bed and desk. Many of the home stores have pre-fabed cabinets that can be screwed directly to the wall. (Be sure to screw into a stud) They can add much needed bedroom storage, and you can add theme décor on the top of the cabinets. Display pictures, trophies, tiaras or any other décor that matches. Put theme knob pulls and maybe a decal on the door, to really make it part of the bedroom's theme.

  • Set a trunk at the end of the bed. You can take an inexpensive plain trunk, in a solid color and create a show piece of furniture. All you have to do is dress it up a little. Add some cool stickers that match your room décor. Stencil their name on it. (Sports theme: stencil “Aaron’s Equipment”) Hot glue some jewels or feathers on it. You just created another storage spot, winter close trunk or a toy box.

  • If you do not have shelves in the top of your closet, they are an easy add. Some shelving brackets a few screw and a board and you have a great storage spot. TIP put in the far corners the items you will need to access the least. The items you use more put in the center of the shelf.
  • A great bedroom storage/organization idea that I use is to use common items as decor. Ballet slippers, spurs, cleats, helmets, ect.. can all be hung on the wall! (It looks really cool) A coat rack that you screw to the wall can be used to display all kinds of things. If it is on the wall it is out of the floor and out of the closet! ;)
